About
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are the Walkasaurus team at the bpf, taking on a 23-mile walk along the breathtaking Jurassic Coast in Devon on 15 May 2026. As we pass landmarks such as Durdle Door and the iconic horseshoe-shaped Lulworth Cove, every mile we walk is focused on one goal: raising funds for a training bursary, to help psychotherapy trainees facing financial hardship.
The bpf is one of the UK’s leading organisations for psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, and Jungian psychotherapy training and membership. Across 10 different trainings, more than 400 trainees are currently undertaking this intensive and demanding work. While deeply rewarding, this training often comes alongside reduced earning capacity, unpaid clinical placements, and significant trainings related and travel costs.
There are times when we are all hit by unexpected financial pressures, a sudden drop in income, rising travel costs, family responsibilities, or unforeseen life events. At these moments, access to emergency financial hardship bursaries during training are critical. Knowing that support is available, whether to help pay for travel to placements, essential course costs, or basic living expenses, this can provide both practical relief and vital peace of mind.
The funds we raise will directly support these hardship bursaries, helping trainees stay in training when they might otherwise be forced to take a break or withdraw altogether. This support ensures that talent, commitment, and diversity within the profession are not lost due to short-term financial crises.
At a time when the mental health workforce is under immense strain, the bpf is investing in the next generation of psychotherapists. These trainees will go on to support adults, children, and young people across the NHS, charities, community services, and in private practice. By supporting trainees today, you are enabling long-term, life-changing care for countless people tomorrow.
Every donation, large or small, helps us reach our £1,725 target and contributes directly to widening access to training, regardless of financial circumstance.
Donating through Enthuse is quick, secure, and direct, your contribution goes straight to the bpf.
Together, we can turn support today into sustained mental health care for the future. Thank you.
